Zanna Bianca, Lupo Ezechiele, Due Calzini, Lupo Mannaro and Lupo Alberto are our five completely independent apartments ranging from 35 sqm to 60 sqm and capable of accommodating from 2 to 4 people. My family and I personally directed their renovation. Every object has been recovered from the area, from the stones and bricks, to the furniture and accessories. The beds are in wrought iron with headboards painted by the local artisans, the dressing tables are ceramic and iron and, here and there objects such as candle holders, a hat stand or “firedogs”, which remind me of my grandmother’s stories. The furniture is in the simple and essential style of the rural Tuscany of the beginning of the XX century, where the kitchen would contain a pine wood plate rack (or walnut if the family could afford it), a table, four straw-covered chairs and, hopefully, a little bread in the cupboard. Last but not least there is the fire place, a vital part of the long winter evenings, made harsher by the position high up on Monte Cetona.
